Stage 2 Boys and Girls Soccer Gala Day.

On Thursday, thirty-eight Year 4 boys and girls represented OLA at the Stage 2 Soccer Gala Day held at Jamison Park, Penrith. Grey clouds gathered as the day started with but, as it progressed, the sun shone on the soccer fields and  a gorgeous, sunny day eventuated. All four teams worked well throughout the day  as a team and communicated well to get the ball into their goal area.

For many girls, this was their first experience of playing soccer. The girls scored a lot of goals and defended well throughout each game. They experienced lots of wins; some loses and even drew a few games. Overall, the girls played well and even laughed at their own mistakes.

The two boys teams also had a wonderful day. Each team played well, showed lots of skill and great sportsmanship. Both teams came second in their draw and after eight matches they all went home a little muddy and exhausted.

A special thank you to Mr Dimech who helped out with the second girls team. To all those who helped prior to the start of the day with setting up goal posts, during the day, transporting students and assisting the teachers, it was greatly appreciated and we hope you had a wonderful day just like the students and teachers did.

Here is a short clip showing the spirit of our OLA students.
