Stage Three Students Participate in Food Revolution Day

Stage Three participated in Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day. This day is about cooking good food from scratch, knowing what’s in your food and eating better so we’re happy and healthy.

At the beginning of our day, we made origami books to record our learning for the day. We created our own logos to promote the message of being ‘food smart.’

Then our cooking fun started. We made pasta from scratch with Mrs La Rocca, as well as two sauces to go with it: tomato sauce and basil pesto. There was a delicious minty yoghurt dip to be made with Ms Love, which we ate with produce we grew at home. We also had a nice dessert to finish off with – French toast with caramelised bananas.

It was a great day to find out new recipes and try foods some of us hadn’t eaten before. The message of being food smart certainly came across and many students cooked for their families over the weekend.

We had a fantastic day and hope to participate in Food Revolution Day again.
