Stage Two Soccer Gala Days

What a wonderful two days of soccer our Stage Two students had at Anne Aquilina Reserve at Rooty Hill. Despite the conditions being windy and cold, the students demonstrated a positive and enthusiastic attitude at all times. The support by the parents on both days was wonderful and I know the children thoroughly enjoyed having them there to support and encourage them throughout the day.

Both groups of Stage Two boys played extremely well on their day. Congratulations to the white team who were undefeated and had no goals scored against them. Our blue team won 4 games and drew 2 placing them in second place. Congratulations to the members of the blue team and their manager Mrs Monks on their fantastic achievement.
Both, Mrs Monks and Miss Grima, would to congratulate the boys for demonstrating excellent skills and sportsmanship. We were very proud of the way the children encouraged each other throughout the games and celebrated every success. At the end of each game, the boys showed fantastic sportsmanship and congratulated the other teams they encountered for the wonderful effort they produced in their games.

Mrs Hurst and Miss Grima would love to thank the Stage Two girls for their wonderful efforts and enthusiasm shown throughout the day. We had a lot of students play with no prior soccer experience and we were proud of their achievements on the field. Our blue team played seven games with very little rest between each game. At the end of the day they won 6 out of their games and took home the medal for the winning team. The white team played 6 games extremely well and faced some tough competition. They won 4 of their games and drew 2 placing them second in their pool.

The OLA community should be extremely proud of these children for all of their wonderful achievements. They represented our school extremely well and it was a pleasure for all the teachers to spend time with a wonderful group of students and watch them celebrate such a wonderful achievement for our new school.
