This year, OLA held its annual Cross Country at the Hills Centenary Park.

All the students from Years 2-6 that wanted to compete competitively and earn a place to compete in the Parramatta Diocesan Event had an early start to the day with a walk from the school grounds with their class teacher. Everyone that turned or was turning 11 or 12 this year had to run 3 km and the students that turned or are turning 8 to 10 had to run 2km.

For the 3km race they had to run the 3 laps around the oval and go down the hill twice, then do another lap around the oval until they reached the finish line where Mr Cauchi was waiting to give us our place.

Then to start the 2km race, the 10 years boys and girls started to race. Then it was time for the 8 and 9 year boys and finally the 8 and 9 year girls were last to race. With the 2km race, the students only had to run two laps of the oval and down the hill once.

Even though the track was wet, all students were still able to run competitively. Good luck to all those students who made it through to compete at the Diocesan Cross Country next term. Thank you Miss Pepin, teachers and parents who organised the event.
