We recently had the pleasure of hosting our students’ grandparents – around 500. Current circumstances, the completion stages of building project, limited what we could offer. However, grandparents shared two of the most precious things they can share with a child - a prayer and a good book. Of course this was accompanied by a scrumptious morning tea provided by the P&F and the parent ‘bakers’.
Grandparents were invited to bring along one of their favourite books to share with their grandchild/ren or students could pick their own. The whole morning was a great success and what a delight it was to see so many people gathering around a book. Some children like Roman in Kinder, had grand and great-grand parents. Others didn’t let grandparents across the world miss out. Below,  Emma Quijano  from Y4 is sharing her book with her ‘abuela’ in Columbia via Facetime
We thank all the grandparents who made the time to come along on this day. It means a lot to the children and that is evident in their smiles of delight. Having relatively recently joined this special ‘grandparent club’, it is no secret that the pleasure is all ours.
