Year 1 students at Our Lady of the Angels, Rouse Hill, are learning about caring for the environment.
In response, they designed some promotional fliers to advertise 'Nude Food Day' across the school.
"Early in the term we gathered the Year 1 rubbish from a typical day and took a photo. On Nude Food Day, we were thrilled to see the impact it had on minimising waste,' said Mrs Macare, Year 1 teacher. "With the whole school behind the project, it has made a big difference to the number of rubbish bins needed".
OLA community hopes everyone will keep up the practice of bringing 'nude food' to school and caring for the environment.

Last week, our incredible swimmers showcased their talent at the Hills Zone Swimming Championships. A huge congratulations to the students who placed in the top four overall—they have now qualified to represent the Hills Zone at the Parramatta Diocesan Swimming Championships next Tuesday at Mt Druitt Swimming Pools. A special shoutout to Hamish, who was named the Hills Zone Junior Boys Age Champion—what an outstanding achievement! Many thanks to Mrs Clarke and Mr Andrews as they provided our OLA team support and encouragement on the day. On Thursday, a group of our Year 5 and Year 6 students proudly represented OLA in the first round of the Mark Taylor Shield Cricket Competition. This was a historic moment for our school, as it marked the first time OLA has participated in the tournament. Our team faced off against Holy Cross Primary, Glenwood, who emerged victorious on the day. A huge congratulations to Ashvith for top-scoring with 10 runs, as well as to Aiyonce and Noah for their impressive bowling figures of 1-5 each. Well done to all our players for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship! Thank you to Mr. Dib, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Kanigelpula and Mrs. Nicholls for assisting on the day. Thank you also to Mr Campbell and Mrs Batten for facilitating this opportunity for the students!
